Air Traffic Control strike announced for 11/5/2011

FOR THE UPCOMING STRIKE OF 15/6/11, GET UPDATED HERE

Both the air traffic controllers and the federation of associations of Hellenic civil aviation authorities announced that they will participate in the 24hrs strike of 11 May 2011.

The good news is that they will perform a 4 hour work halt between 12.00-16.00 pm and not a 24 hour strike. If you are travelling to Greece or within Greece, you should advise the airline(s) you are flying with.

* Aegean Airlines will cancel 14 flights (Rhodes not included) and alter the departure time for 39 flight legs. (Press Release)

* Olympic Air will cancel:
OA094/095 Rhodes-Karpathos-Rhodes
OA090/091 Rhodes-Karpathos-Kasos-Sitia and vice versa
OA034 Rhodes-Kos-Leros-Astypalaia
OA870/871 Thessaloniki-Rhodes-Thessaloniki
and modify:
OA706/707 Athens-Rhodes-Athens with new departure times, from Athens 08.10 and from Rhodes 09.50

* Thomson Airways will alter departure times for the following flights:
TOM2332 Manchester to Rhodes            Now due to depart at 1130

TOM2333 Rhodes to Manchester            Now due to depart at 1840 (Greek local time)

TOM7322 Birmingham to Rhodes           Now due to depart at 1130

TOM7323 Rhodes to Birmingham           Now due to depart at 1835 (Greek local time)

TOM3300 Doncaster to Rhodes              Now due to depart at 1130

TOM3301 Rhodes to Doncaster              Now due to depart at 1830 (Greek local time)
All other flights to Rhodes will operate to their original schedule.
